The highest rating of all privately owned banks
When you give a bank your money you need to know that it's in one of the safest of hands.
Well, here's the good news. Rabobank has a top rating for creditworthiness from international rating agencies Standard & Poor's, Moody's and Dominion Bond Rating Service. RaboDirect is the brand name of the internet bank that is part of Rabobank's Dublin branch. Accordingly RaboDirect has full double-A status.
Measured by its core capital, Rabobank is one of the top twenty world's largest financial institutions.
As one of the safest banks in the world, Rabobank announced in it's recent 2011 results that its tier-1 capital now stands at 17%. That's strong. To put that into perspective: the new capital requirements for the banks in Ireland will be 8% core tier-1 capital as announced by the Central Bank of Ireland.
You'll also be reassured to know that Rabobank was in 2012 once again ranked among the top 10 "World's Safest Banks" by Global Finance Magazine.
