Rabobank is holding its own!

As we know, there is currently much discussion on if, how, when and why Irish banks need extra capital. Banks need capital to be able to get credit going again to homeowners, SME’s and large companies so they can run their business, buy and sell houses and start spending money.

New Year, Exciting Challenges

Into our second week of the New Year and I’d just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2009. And although it will be a challenging year for the Irish economy, that shouldn’t block a year of happiness and joy with family and friends. In Rabobank, the new year traditionally starts with the new year’s speech by the CEO. This time his last one before his retirement in July. Piet Moerland (59) is to be the new Chairman of the Rabobank Group Executive Board in the second half of 2009.

Where do I go from here?

As a north side Dubliner I’m no stranger to a bit of slagging from some of my south side colleagues about living on the ‘wrong side of the city’. All very well until we went to a recent Rugby International in Croke Park and the same crew left the grounds like lost sheep with no idea which way to turn. Not unlike the situation a lot of investors have recently found themselves in.
