Follow these 5 steps to get started:
1. If you're already a RaboDirect Savings customer all you need to do is login to your secure RaboDirect account and set up your online Investment Account.
2. If you're not a RaboDirect customer, relax, opening an account is quick and easy. Open an Investment Account
The next task is to understand your Investor profile and your level of tolerance to risk. Perhaps you are already aware of your investor profile, perhaps you are an accomplished investor and confident in your investment decisions. We provide five different model portfolios. A model portfolio provides you with a snapshot of typical asset allocations or spread of risk most suited to one of the investor profiles. Remember that these are only guidelines to you the investor and may be used in line with your investment objectives and are part of a wider process of investing. Investments may rise as well as fall and past performance is no guide to future performance. Once you have decided on an investment strategy please take a close look at our table of funds. From this Table you can access a substantial amount of information which you will find useful in the investment process and helpful to building your portfolio(s). Our table contains access to Funds Fact Sheets, Tariffs, Latest Performance, Ratings and the latest indicative prices. Therein you will also find further links to our fund providers, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, BlackRock Global Funds, Robeco, Henderson Global Investors, Merrion Investment Managers and Fortis Investments as well as further information about our site.
When you have selected an investment fund that you would like to buy you then need to log on to the RaboDirect secure transactions site with your Digipass. Select the fund you want to purchase in the 'Investment / All Investments' section. Ensure you read the prospectus then you can proceed further with making your investment. State the cash value you wish to invest which can be no less than €100. Check your order information and the estimated cost on the screen that follows. If the order is correct, click on 'Confirm' and follow the further instructions. Do you want to sell? Go to 'Your Investments account / Overview' to view all the funds you have in your portfolio. Select the desired fund and select 'Sell'. You will be asked to enter the cash amount you wish to sell from the total available within your individual portfolio. As from the 1st July 2006 all orders for Robeco funds must be placed before 2.00pm. Your order will then be transmitted on that day for execution on the following business day, in line with the following day's price. A confirmation of the transaction will appear in your online account 2 business days from the day of your initial order placement i.e. Order day +2.
Please note that once a purchase order has been placed funds are reserved in your account and will only be debited from your account once the transaction has been processed. For further details of all RaboDirect product provider ordering cut-off and processing time-lines see our FAQ section.
You can cancel an order providing that it has not yet been executed. If you wish to change an order, you must first cancel the existing order. Only then can you place a new order. The exact time when an order is executed depends on the fund provider.
