What is your ideal model portfolio?

Model Portfolios

Okay, lets agree on one basic statement before we get into the nitty gritty folks - people invest because they want to get the best return possible for their money at a level of risk they're comfortable with.

This might seem obvious enough, but we just want to be clear that the only reason we offer tools like the Morningstar Model Portfolios is to help you choose a diversified pot of funds that, in turn, can help you make money without going grey over night or losing precious sleep.

With the help of Morningstar, we've created five investor profiles, each with a unique model asset allocation based on things like a person's investment objectives, how long they want to invest for and how much risk they're prepared to take with their money.

These model portfolios are great place to start if you're new to investing or need a little help creating a well diversified portfolio - the most basic rule applied by professional investors.

What does your Model Portfolio look like?

First up, you need to work out which of the profiles reflects your personal situation most. If you're unsure, we've a nifty little questionnaire that can help point you in the right direction. What type of investor am I?

Once you've taken the questionnaire, simply click the profile you've been most closely aligned with and we'll show you how Morningstar envisage your ideal portfolio.
