Rabobank: 10 years as the world's safest bank

The Global Finance magazine announced last week its annual ranking of the World's Safest Bank. Rabobank has again made the top list, a position that has been retained for 10 consecutive years.
Rabobank ranked 4th in Global Finance magazine World's Safest Bank list, making it the world's safest privately owned bank. In the top three are Groupe Caisse des Dépots (CDC), Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten (BNG) and Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank, which are government owned or government guaranteed.
The ranking will be featured in the Global Finance special October issue, alongside several of the magazine's renowned Best Bank awards.
These World's Safest banks were selected through a comparison of the long-term credit ratings and total assets of 300 largest banks around the world. Ratings from Moody's, Standard & Poor's and Fitch were also used.
Global Finance publisher Joseph D. Giarraputo said, "These banks have demonstrated an appropriately prudent approach to risk in providing international financial services. More than ever customers are viewing strong credit quality as an important feature of the banks which they do business with."
The top 10 banks will be honoured at an awards ceremony to be held in Washington D.C. on October 13th to coincide with the World Bank/ IMF annual meeting.
